Nick is a maverick musician and inventor of musical instruments. He has not only written many short pieces of music but also made instruments from all sorts of materials particularly plumbing.
This orange beast was made from a foghorn previously on a boat but salvaged and recycled by Nick from the scrap heap in Dorchester.
He is a mostly self taught enthusiast of music having spent many years in schools and village halls giving educational demonstrations to inspire young children, as well as running creative hands-on workshops.
He enjoys collecting all sorts of instruments ranging from a serpent to a theremin and then building new ones, such as the "crumpled horn" from an immersion tank and a 30 stringed harp made from a steel bath.
